Q：What was the defining moment or event that shaped the current school colour and culture?
Excellent ICT practices and forward-thinking, innovative pedagogical methods must never vanish when talented educators complete their terms and return to Japan. To ensure that the unique Changi soul remains steadfast across leadership transitions, I have established the core pillars of “Dialogue, Co-creation, and Total Optimization” with a firm resolution to pass a powerful educational baton to the future. We are deliberately shifting away from partial optimization that relies strictly on isolated individual capabilities, moving instead toward a sustainable, total optimization of our entire organization. Systematizing our ongoing educational breakthroughs as institutional assets—and continuously evolving them within “Team Changi”—is precisely the rock-solid foundation required to empower the children of tomorrow.

Q：What unique personalities make up your team, and how would you describe the day-to-day dynamic of your workplace?
Our faculty and staff bring a rich mosaic of ages and professional experiences from every corner of Japan, working hand-in-hand with our dedicated English department educators and local Singaporean staff of various nationalities. Our workplace environment is a beautiful microcosm of Singapore’s multicultural harmony.
Although our upbringings and cultural backgrounds differ, our passionate commitment to nurturing global talent remains entirely as one. Because we cultivate a fertile ground where individual identities are deeply respected, a spirit of boldly embracing cutting-edge education naturally breathes through the entire campus. Masazumi Matsukoshi
Principal, The Japanese School Singapore, Changi Campus (Primary School)
Has served extensively as an educator and principal across domestic elementary schools in Japan, as well as prestigious international Japanese schools in Taipei and Singapore. Throughout his career, he has championed lifelong learning in his capacity as a Social Education Director, establishing robust, supportive networks between families, schools, and local communities. Additionally, as a long-standing secretariat member of Zenkaiken (The National Council of Japanese International Education), he remains deeply dedicated to cultivating next-generation global talent on a global scale.
