From Branch Office to Incorporated Subsidiary: Expanding in Singapore
Q:What kind of role did your company aim to fulfill when you started your journey in Singapore?
Our operations in Singapore originally launched in September 1982 as a branch of Hitachi Capital. After cultivating deep relationships with local partners and clients, we officially incorporated as an independent private limited company in Singapore in January 1994.
In 2010, we acquired our own automotive service workshop, transforming our company into a more versatile financial enterprise. Equipped with dedicated vehicle maintenance and repair facilities, we became able to deliver comprehensive solutions. Driven by this continuous expansion, our organization was restructured into a regional management office in April 2015.
Serving as the Strategic Core of the ASEAN Region
Q:What core beliefs, commitments, and passions do you value most in your daily operations?
Within our medium-term management plan, our strategic mandate as the central hub for the ASEAN region is to maintain our business scale while expanding regional profitability. To achieve this, we continuously pursue a premium pricing strategy, receiving fair compensation for the high quality of service we deliver to our clients.
In order to adapt to changing global economic conditions and build a competitive operational structure, we are actively responding to the growing financial demands across the ASEAN region. Deeply rooted in local communities, we provide finance solutions tailored to specific customer needs, as well as vendor-partnered sales financing.
Driving Societal Progress Through Automotive Finance
Q:How do you envision growing alongside Singapore, and in what ways do you hope to keep contributing to the nation?
Operating our own vehicle inspection and repair workshop, we have always maintained a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service—especially regarding accident response and repair support, which are vital for Japanese corporate clients and Japanese residents in Singapore.
To sustain this standard of quality, we are actively strengthening our corporate fleet business within automotive finance. While our customer base has historically leaned toward individual clients, we are focusing on expanding our corporate portfolio. Moving forward, Mitsubishi HC Capital will leverage its experience and expertise to contribute to local communities through green finance and sustainable finance initiatives, driving the realization of a sustainable society.
A Garden Nation Home to Sophisticated Minds and Global Talent
Q:What elements of Singapore’s culture or urban lifestyle do you find truly wonderful and inspiring?
Compared to my previous assignment in Jakarta, I was immediately struck by how clean the cityscape is, how rich the natural greenery remains, and how sophisticated the people are. Working here for the first time, at the financial hub of Southeast Asia where corporate regional headquarters concentrate, is a deeply rewarding experience.
