Q：What kind of role did your company aim to fulfill when you started your journey in Singapore?

Canon established its subsidiary in Singapore in 1979 as a strategic hub for South and Southeast Asia. Since then, we have steadily expanded our business while developing comprehensive sales and service networks in this dynamic and diverse market. Guided by our corporate philosophy of “Kyosei”—living and working together for the common good—we have continued to enrich Singapore society and contribute positively to local communities through our technologies and people. This includes not only bringing the joy of capturing and preserving memories through imaging products, but also enhancing workplace productivity through printing solutions.

Sharing “Kyosei”

Q：What core beliefs, commitments, and passions do you value most in your daily operations?

Beyond providing products and services, we strive to contribute to a better society. As a truly global company, we foster good relationships not only with our customers, but also with the communities in which we operate and the natural environment. With this in mind, we promote our corporate philosophy of “Kyosei” through a branding campaign called “#iamkyosei,” engaging younger generations as well. As part of this initiative, we collaborate with students from Temasek Polytechnic and volunteers from Youth Corps Singapore (a volunteer organisation under the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth), deepening our engagement with Gen Z. While “Kyosei” is a Japanese word, its emphasis on social awareness and meaningful connections strongly resonates with the values of today’s youth.

Q：How do you envision growing alongside Singapore, and in what ways do you hope to keep contributing to the nation?

Singapore is a multicultural society where people from diverse backgrounds—across nationalities and ethnicities—live and work together. This embodies the spirit of “Kyosei”, in which we aim to grow alongside the nation and contribute to its progress. In addition to delivering value through our products and services, we are committed to deepening our connection with the community through CSR initiatives. Through these efforts, we will continue to strengthen our ties with society and contribute to a more sustainable future.

What I Love About Singapore!

Q：What elements of Singapore’s culture or urban lifestyle do you find truly wonderful and inspiring?

A safe, clean, and well-maintained garden city where order and vibrancy coexist. From the National Day Parade and the Singapore Grand Prix to the Botanic Gardens and Gardens by the Bay, there is so much to love. I can even sing the national anthem—Majulah Singapura!
